Moscow, 1 March 2025 (SPS) - Sergey Malinkovich, the head of the Central Committee of the Communists of Russia party, denounced the crimes of the Moroccan occupation and its violation of international legitimacy. He reiterated the legal framework of Western Sahara as a non-self-governing territory still awaiting the completion of the decolonization process.
This statement was made during an event organized by the Russian party as part of the activities commemorating the 49th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR). The event was attended by solidarity activists supporting the Sahrawi people's struggle and Sahrawi students studying in Russia.
In his address, Sergey Malinkovich reaffirmed that his party "recognizes the Sahrawi Republic and will remain committed to this principle as one of the priorities of its foreign policy." He condemned the crimes of the Moroccan occupation and its defiance of international legitimacy in the occupied part of Western Sahara.
