San Giorgio Bigarello, Mantova (Italy), February 6, 2025 (SPS) - The Mayor of San Giorgio Bigarello, in the province of Mantova, Mr. Davide Dal Bosco, and the Deputy Mayor, Ms. Federica Nota, received the representative of the Polisario Front in the Lombardy region, Mr. Omar Hassena Ahreyem, at the municipality's headquarters.
During the meeting, a working session was held with the aim of establishing cooperation and twinning agreements between Sahrawi and Italian municipalities in the near future. The mayor reaffirmed his support for the Sahrawi people's struggle for peace and freedom, as well as his commitment to this cause. He also expressed his backing for the solidarity association with the Sahrawi people and committed to continuing to host Sahrawi children as a show of solidarity with the refugees.
For his part, the representative of the Polisario Front in Lombardy, Mr. Omar Hassena Ahreyem, thanked the mayor and deputy mayor on behalf of the Sahrawi people and government. He also invited them to visit the Sahrawi refugee camps soon.
