Algiers, December 22, 2024 (SPS) - The International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution reaffirmed the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence during its second session held at the Aurassi Hotel in Algiers.
Mr. Nourredine Joudi, President of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution, stated that the Association, based on the principles of the November Revolution, will remain committed to supporting the rights of peoples, particularly the Sahrawi and Palestinian causes.
He highlighted that Western Sahara is the last colony in Africa, where its people continue to fight for their right to self-determination and independence, emphasizing that the Sahrawi Republic is a founding member of the African Union with full rights in this continental bloc.
The second session of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution was attended by a delegation led by National Secretariat member Mohamed Lamine Ahmed, President of the Sahrawi Advisory Council, along with National Secretariat member Abdelkader Taleb Omar, Ambassador to Algeria, Brahim Salim Azroug, Executive Office member of the Advisory Council, and Mouloud Ahmed Bayla, also a member of the Advisory Council.
The session which was inaugurated by the Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Mr. Laïd Arbiga, was attended by delegations representing various countries from Africa, Latin America, Asia, and some Arab countries participated in the session, alongside the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria, veterans, historical figures, and representatives of Algerian civil society.
