Safi (Morocco), 13 January 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi civil prisoner, Abd Al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed, is going through difficult health conditions as a result of the harsh mistreatment he receives from the prison administration.
In a statement issued by the family of the Sahrawi civil prisoner, Abd Al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed, through which the Sahrawi Prisoners Protection Association was informed of the critical health condition and the difficult detention conditions he is experiencing inside the prison due to the negligence of the prison administration in providing necessary treatment and medication and improving the detention conditions he is subjected to.
The family confirms that Abd Al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed is suffering of tuberculosis as a result of years of miserable detention, the lack of medical care, and overcrowding in the cell, which has caused him several instances of suffocation and inability to breathe. He did not receive any medical procedures or transfer to the hospital to avoid any complications that could threaten his health and safety.
Furthermore, they add that the transfer of the Sahrawi civil prisoner, Abd Al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed, to the local prison in the city of Safi was intended to subject him to various forms of psychological torture and prolong the suffering of the family, as they are unable to travel long distances and make regular visits without obstacles.
The family of the Sahrawi civil prisoner, Abd Al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed, appeals to all international human rights organizations concerned with human rights to raise awareness about the seriousness of his health condition and exert pressure on the Moroccan state to improve the detention conditions, especially the right to medical treatment and healthcare.
