Brazilian Communist Party joins international solidarity campaign with Sahrawi prisoners

Brasília, 30 September 2026 (SPS) – The Brazilian Communist Party expressed its solidarity with the Sahrawi civilian prisoners on hunger strike, announcing its participation in the international campaign calling for their release.

In a statement, the party condemned the repression, detention, and ill-treatment to which the prisoners are being subjected, and called on the Moroccan authorities to bring them together in a single prison.

The party also called on the Moroccan authorities to comply with international humanitarian law, drawing attention to the serious risks faced by the civilian prisoners as a result of ill-treatment and the consequences of their hunger strike.
