Sahrawi Embassy in Algiers holds press conference on preparations for launch of 14th Edition of Summer University for Sahrawi State Executives

Algiers, 8 August 2026 (SPS) – The Embassy of the Sahrawi Republic in Algiers, in cooperation with the Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, held a press conference at the Mohamed Fadel Ismail Media Center as part of preparations for the launch of the 14th edition of the Summer University for Sahrawi State Executives, scheduled to be held in the Algerian province of Boumerdes.

The press conference focused on the main components of the Summer University’s programme and its importance as an important solidarity event and a space for training and the exchange of experiences and knowledge. It also addressed the current circumstances in which the event is being held, amid the continued struggle and steadfastness of the Sahrawi people in pursuit of their legitimate rights.

In a presentation to representatives of the media, Member of the National Secretariat and Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, Khatri Addouh, highlighted the importance of this annual solidarity event, which is being held under the slogan: “Self-determination and independence: an inalienable and immutable right.”

The ambassador reaffirmation of the Sahrawi people’s commitment to their established rights to freedom and independence, stressing that any attempts to circumvent the Sahrawi people’s right or to bypass international legitimacy resolutions enabling them to exercise their right to self-determination would not and will not be accepted by the Sahrawi people.

He reaffirmed the Sahrawi people’s readiness and determination to continue their struggle and to make further efforts to fully impose their national choices of freedom and independence.

He added that the Summer University represents another opportunity for Algeria, both its people and government, to reaffirm its strong and steadfast positions in support of the Sahrawi people and their just cause. He noted that the event also provides an opportunity for training, discussion and benefiting from Algerian experience in various fields.

For his part, Boujemaa Souilah, Vice-President of the Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, stressed that the Summer University represents a major opportunity to exchange ideas and views on a range of issues related to developments in the Sahrawi cause and the Sahrawi people’s resistance, while also strengthening Algerian-Sahrawi relations and cooperation.
