Boujdour Wilaya, July 13, 2026 (SPS) – The Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Baba Lefdeid, accompanied by a representative of the NGO Africa '70, met on Monday with the regional and local authorities of Boujdour Wilaya, under the chairmanship of the Wilaya Governor, Dih Mohamed Sheddad, where a new economic project aimed at supporting Sahrawi women was officially launched.

The project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and is being implemented by Africa '70 in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development.

The initiative seeks to pilot a series of small-scale dairy goat farming projects for Sahrawi women. Four women's groups have been selected as the first beneficiaries, marking the project's initial phase during the current year.

The project aims to strengthen local production and improve food quality for residents of the wilaya by promoting women's economic empowerment through the development of the goat milk production value chain. It also includes training for beneficiaries on best practices in livestock breeding and herd management.
