Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs received by President of Mozambique, Delivers written message from President Brahim Ghali

Maputo (Mozambique), 25June 2026 (SPS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, was received on Wednesday by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, H.E. Daniel Francisco Chapo, to whom he delivered a written message from the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.

During the meeting, the Sahrawi minister conveyed to the Mozambican President the greetings of President Brahim Ghali and expressed the deep appreciation and gratitude of the Sahrawi people, leadership, government, and people of the Sahrawi Republic to the Republic of Mozambique for its historic principled position and its continued support for the just Sahrawi cause in various international and continental forums.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Sahrawi envoy to brief his host on the latest developments concerning the Sahrawi issue at both the diplomatic and field levels, as well as on the ongoing struggle of the Sahrawi people to complete their national sovereignty.

For his part, President Daniel Francisco Chapo reaffirmed his country's longstanding and unwavering support for the Sahrawi people and their just cause, stressing Mozambique’s full backing of the Sahrawi people's inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

The Mozambican President also expressed his satisfaction with the excellent level of bilateral relations and the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two sisterly countries, emphasizing the shared commitment to further strengthening and developing these ties in the interest of both peoples.

The meeting was attended, alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, by the Sahrawi Republic’s Ambassador to the Republic of Mozambique, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ahmed.
