Smara Wilaya, April 20, 2026 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, has called for the strong and continuous presence of Sahrawi women—especially young women—across all spheres of national action at the grassroots, local, regional, and central levels, particularly in leadership and management, through practice rather than slogans.
In his speech at the opening of the 10th Congress of the National Union of Sahrawi Women, he stressed that the National Union of Sahrawi Women, like other mass organizations, is one of the pillars of the Polisario Front, working in complementarity with other components. It adheres to the Polisario Front’s line and principles and implements its plans, decisions, and programs based on its position, status, and role within society.
He also emphasized the need to activate the roles and responsibilities women have long undertaken, especially in mobilizing and raising awareness within society, alerting it to risks, guiding it to confront the enemy’s plans, and fostering a climate of constant vigilance, security, stability, unity, and cohesion, while rejecting harmful and alien behaviors.
