Sahrawi runner Buchraya Nai wins 5km race of Sahara Marathon

Wilaya of Smara, February 24, 2026 (SPS) – Sahrawi runner Buchraya Nai has won the shortest distance, the 5km race, of the international solidarity sporting event Sahara Marathon.

After finishing the race in first place, Buchraya stated that “the victory makes him feel happier and more committed, both as a runner and as a sports activist, seeking to attract international attention and recognition for the legitimate cause of his people, dedicating his win to the heroic fighters of the liberation army and to the Sahrawi people in general.”
