Harare (Zimbabwe), February 21, 2026 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the Youth Union of Saguia El-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UJTSARIO), Ali Mohamed Salem, took part in Zimbabwe’s National Youth Day at the official invitation of Zimbabwean youth organizations.
The participation of the Sahrawi youth in this national event, which was presided over by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, comes within the framework of strengthening solidarity and cooperation between African youth organizations and consolidating bonds of brotherhood between the Sahrawi people and the peoples of the continent.
On the sidelines of the event, the UJTSARIO Secretary-General, together with the participating delegations, met with the Zimbabwean President. During the meeting, the Secretary-General conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, affirming the deep historical relations between the two countries and renewing appreciation for Zimbabwe’s supportive stance toward the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their right to self-determination.
Zimbabwe’s National Youth Day also provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to develop youth cooperation and strengthen joint coordination in support of liberation and development causes across the African continent.
