Shaheed El-Hafed, 1 January 2026 (SPS) – The National Council held Wednesday a general session chaired by member of the National Secretariat, Speaker of the National Council, Mr. Hamma Salama, attended by members of the legislative and executive bodies.
The session was devoted to presenting the draft annual government program for the year 2026, within the proceedings of the Council’s autumn session.
Member of the National Secretariat, Prime Minister, Mr. Bushraya Hammoudi Beyoun, presented the main themes and major objectives of the government’s 2026 program, reviewing its key pillars and goals based on legal references and the results of evaluations of executive performance during the past year, as well as the requirements of the current circumstances for mobilizing and unifying efforts, resources, and capabilities on all fronts of national work, supporting the readiness of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, and strengthening its combat capacities.
He also stressed focusing on resistance in the occupied territories and southern Morocco, developing all possible means to support the Independence Intifada, securing the release of political prisoners in Moroccan occupation prisons, and breaking the security and media blockade imposed on the occupied areas.
The Prime Minister addressed the most important themes in policies related to education, health, and social affairs, activating strategies related to youth policies, the “Holidays in Peace” program, strengthening the presence of the Sahrawi cause at the continental and international levels, and developing diplomatic and media action in its various aspects.
After the Prime Minister’s speech, which included the presentation of the main themes and major objectives of the government’s 2026 program, the Speaker of the National Council opened the floor for the specialized committees to hold meetings with the relevant government sectors to discuss and enrich the program before presenting it to the general session for a vote.
