Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), 29 November 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, congratulated his Mauritanian counterpart, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of his country’s independence, celebrated on the 28th of November.
President Brahim Ghali said in his message of congratulations, "it is a historic day for the brotherly Mauritanian people, and for the peoples of Africa in general, as Mauritania, after many years of struggle and resistance, succeeded in wresting its national independence and embarking on a new path based on building a sovereign state over all its national territory."
He added, "we renew to you the pride of the Sahrawi people in the bonds of brotherhood, friendship, good neighborliness, and shared destiny that unite it with its brother, the Mauritanian people. We also affirm our determination to strengthen these distinguished relations and enhance cooperation, coordination, and consultation between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Sahrawi Republic, for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples and countries, in service of peace, security, and stability in the region and the world."
