Smara Wilaya, 19 November 2025 (SPS) — The Minister of Culture, Mr. Moussa Salma, affirmed today, Wednesday, during the opening of the Third International Solidarity Forum for Cultural Exchange for Peace in Western Sahara, that the broad international participation in this cultural forum—from various continents and cultures—constitutes a noble moral message reflecting the participants’ commitment to the values of solidarity, rejection of injustice and marginalization, and the breaking of the walls of silence and obscurity surrounding the last colony in Africa.

He added that this reinforces the conviction that defending a people’s right to self-determination is a defense of universal human values and the cause of every living conscience that believes in the justice of peoples and their right to live with dignity, sovereignty, and peace.

The Minister highlighted that this forum reaffirms that culture is an act of resistance and a tool for rapprochement, dialogue, and the promotion of values of peace and peaceful coexistence among peoples.

He further stated that the forum represents a historic opportunity to reaffirm that the question of Western Sahara is a decolonization issue—a cause of a people demanding their inherent right to freedom and self-determination, a right recognized by all divine laws as well as international laws and conventions.
