
Caracas (Venezuela), August 6, 2025 (SPS) – Venezuela has reiterated its unwavering support for the Sahrawi cause and the right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and independence.
This came during an event organized by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the 43rd anniversary of the recognition of the Sahrawi Republic, where the right of the Sahrawi people to freedom, self-determination, and independence was reaffirmed.
During the event, photographer Darwin presented a documentary film titled "Light in the Sahara," showcasing his artistic work that highlights the resilience and struggle of the Sahrawi people.
The event featured speeches by Yuri Pimentel, Venezuela’s Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, and Jamal Sidí, Chargé d'Affaires of the Sahrawi Embassy in Caracas, both of whom emphasized the deep historical ties between the two peoples and nations.
Under the slogan "The Sahrawi cause is a Bolivarian cause, and it is the cause of the Venezuelan people," Venezuela’s steadfast commitment to the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and sovereignty was reaffirmed.
