Agadir (Morocco), June 29, 2025 (SPS) – In a blatant retaliatory move, the dean’s office of the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Agadir, Morocco, summoned a group of Sahrawi students who participated in the symbolic act known as the "Gdeim Izik Pledge," held on June 19, 2025, in solidarity with Sahrawi prisoners in Moroccan jails.

The university administration threatened to impose severe disciplinary measures, which could include permanent expulsion from the faculty. This move reflects a clear repressive policy targeting Sahrawi voices within Moroccan universities and blatantly violates the legitimate right to freedom of expression and peaceful engagement in just and lawful causes.

The Sahrawi students view this decision as direct targeting due to their political stance and participation in peaceful activities, holding the Moroccan authorities fully responsible for the consequences of this arbitrary measure. They affirm that these repeated attempts at intimidation and suppression will not deter them from continuing their struggle, both inside and outside the university.
