Stockholm (Sweden), 19 October 2026 (SPS) – A Sahrawi women’s delegation led by Minister of Social Affairs and Women’s Promotion Soueilma Beirouk and human rights activist and member of the Sahrawi Body Against the Moroccan Occupation, Mina Baali, arrived in Stockholm on Sunday for a working visit aimed at raising awareness of the Sahrawi cause.
The delegation was received by the Polisario Front representative in Sweden and Norway, Senia El Bachir Abderrahmane, accompanied by the Polisario Front’s representative in Slovenia, Hamdi Omar.
During the visit, the delegation is scheduled to hold a series of meetings and activities with Swedish civil society organisations, political parties and human rights groups to brief them on the latest developments concerning Western Sahara.
The programme will also highlight the prominent role of Sahrawi women, their living conditions in refugee camps, and the challenges facing human rights defenders in the occupied territories. It will further address the situation of Sahrawi political prisoners, the exploitation of Western Sahara’s natural resources, and the stagnation of UN-led peace efforts in the territory amid Morocco’s continued intransigence.
