New York, September 27, 2026 (SPS) – Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez reaffirmed before the United Nations General Assembly his country's support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, stressing the need to respect the UN Charter and its principles concerning decolonization.
Speaking on Saturday evening during the general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Bruno Rodríguez said: “We reaffirm our solidarity with the Sahrawi people and its right to self-determination.”
The Cuban minister reiterated the need to respect the UN Charter and stressed that the international community must guarantee the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to self-determination, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
