Manchester (Britain), September 6, 2026 (SPS) – In a demonstration of solidarity with the Sahrawi people and its right to freedom and dignity, the British Association, Big Ramble, organized a solidarity march in the countryside of northwest England, near the city of Manchester, with the participation of supporters and people interested in the Sahrawi cause.
The march toured scenic rural areas, combining community activity, solidarity and raising awareness of the Sahrawi people's cause, highlighting the situation of Sahrawi refugees, and sheding light on the challenges that the Sahrawi people have continued to face for decades.
During the march, the flag of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) was raised as an expression of solidarity with the Sahrawi people. The event also provided an opportunity to introduce participants to the history of the Sahrawi people, its cause and its struggle for its rights and freedom, while drawing attention to a humanitarian and political situation that continues to require greater attention from the international community.
The gathering also provided an opportunity to hear from Sahrawis from the occupied territories of Western Sahara, who shared their experiences and testimonies concerning daily life and the challenges faced by the Sahrawi population, as well as restrictions and violations that they describe as affecting their fundamental rights and freedoms.
