Florence (Italy), August 24, 2026 (SPS) – The Italian association CittàVisibili reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence, while also commending the success of the “Vacaciones en Paz” (Holidays in Peace) program, which benefits Sahrawi children every summer.
In this context, the association’s president, Simone Bolognesi, stressed that “the experience of hosting Sahrawi children goes far beyond the activities and visits, extending to its cultural and solidarity values, as it provides a space for cultural exchange and getting to know one another on strong foundations of friendship and respect.”
Following the conclusion of the program, the Italian association highlighted the value of the bonds established during the Sahrawi children’s stay and the importance of continuing to raise awareness of and support the Sahrawi cause among the various organizations of Italian civil society.
The association stressed that Sahrawi children are considered ambassadors of peace, carrying the Sahrawi cause in their hearts, promoting the culture and memory of the Sahrawi people, and deeply aspiring to the realization of the values of justice and freedom.
