Boumerdes, August 13, 2026 (SPS) – The human rights delegation from the occupied territories, participating in the activities of the Summer University for Executives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi Republic, today, Thursday, highlighted the suffering of the Sahrawi people in the occupied territories, recounting their experiences of detention and the tragic conditions they endured in the prisons of the occupation.

Former prisoners stressed that even after their release, they continued to be pursued and their homes placed under siege. They said the occupation authorities sought to humiliate them and break their resolve and resistance to defend their rights and, above all, their people’s right to freedom.

In this context, they affirmed that they had become involved in the struggle, particularly within Moroccan universities, and that they had been arrested for this reason. Members of the delegation stressed that the horrific experiences they endured have only strengthened their determination to continue their struggle and defend the cause of their people.

The delegation members spoke about the human rights situation in the occupied territories in its various dimensions. They provided first-hand testimony about the prisons of the occupation and spoke about the suffering of prisoners’ families. They also addressed the media situation in the occupied territories and the difficulties involved in transmitting information, in addition to the role of young women in the uprising.
