Dakhla Wilaya, July 15, 2026 (SPS) – Dakhla wilaya witnessed a large solidarity rally on Wednesday, bringing together regional and local authorities alongside citizens, in a popular mobilization to draw attention to the critical health condition and the heroic struggle of Sahrawi civilian prisoner Naâma Asfari, who is held behind the bars of the Moroccan occupation and continues an open-ended hunger strike in defense of his dignity and basic rights.
The gathering expressed deep concern over the serious impact of the hunger strike on the safety of activist Naâma Asfari, holding the occupying state fully responsible for any consequences that may threaten his life.
During the rally, images of prisoner Naâma Asfari were raised as a symbol of steadfastness and an iron will that have not been broken by his long years of imprisonment. The participants said that his empty stomach is today writing a new chapter in the history of resistance and defiance.
The rally featured the reading of a solidarity statement in which the authorities and citizens of Dakhla Wilaya called for urgent international action.
