Moscow, May 26, 2026 (SPS) – A delegation from the Congolese Communist Party, participating in the activities of the Third International Anti-Fascist Forum, expressed its solidarity with the Sahrawi people’s steadfast right to self-determination and independence, in accordance with United Nations resolutions and international law.

In a statement issued by the party, the struggle of the people of Western Sahara was described as a just and legitimate cause against occupation and the deprivation of peoples of sovereignty over their lands and natural resources. The statement added that the Congolese people understand the suffering and determination of the Sahrawi people in confronting what it described as imperialism and foreign exploitation.

The Congolese Communist Party stressed its commitment to full and unwavering solidarity with the Polisario Front, considering it the sole and legitimate representative of the people of Western Sahara. It also declared its support for reaching a just, lasting, and final solution that guarantees the Sahrawi people the exercise of their right to self-determination and independence without restrictions.

The statement also condemned what it described as human rights violations and the arrogance of the occupation, which hinder the liberation and development of the Sahrawi people, announcing its determination to defend the Sahrawi cause in international forums and among progressive and communist anti-imperialist forces around the world.

The party concluded its statement by affirming that the victory of any people struggling for its freedom is a victory for Africa and for all peoples aspiring to freedom, while pledging to continue its political and moral support for the Sahrawi people until they achieve full sovereignty over their territory.
