Quito (Ecuador), April 9, 2026 (SPS) – The Ecuadorian Association of Friendship with the Sahrawi People, in a message it sent, congratulated the Sahrawi people and the Polisario Front on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
In its message, the association highlighted that the commemoration of this historic anniversary represents an appropriate opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the Ecuadorian and Sahrawi peoples, affirming in this context that celebrating this historic event allows for learning from all the experiences the heroic Sahrawi people—especially women and youth—have gone through in their struggle to achieve independence and sovereignty.
The association added that the resistance of the Sahrawi people is an example to be followed in strengthening international solidarity, reaffirming its firm commitment to supporting their just cause.
