Wilaya of Auserd, April 9, 2026 (SPS) – Member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Bachir Mustapha Sayed, received Wednesday in the wilaya of Auserd the Mauritanian parliamentary delegation participating in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The President of the National Council welcomed the Mauritanian MP Mostafa Ould Sohaib, head of the Mauritanian-Algerian Friendship Group in parliament, who is taking part in the Sahrawi people’s celebrations as a representative of the President of the Mauritanian National Assembly. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Mauritanian people.
He praised the position of the Mauritanian state toward the Sahrawi people—whom he described as a twin people to the Mauritanian people—reflecting Mauritania’s wisdom and prudence in the face of international pressures seeking to impose agendas with serious consequences for the region.
For his part, MP Mostafa Ould Sohaib conveyed to the President of the National Council the greetings of his brother, the President of the Mauritanian National Assembly, Mohamed Bemba Mekt.
He thanked the Sahrawi people for their warm hospitality, expressing that he felt among his own family and brothers.
