Ait Melloul (Morocco), 29 March 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi civilian prisoner Mohamed Bani is suffering from medical neglect, according to a Sahrawi human rights source.
His family informed Friday the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners that the Sahrawi civilian prisoner Mohamed Bani has been subjected to deliberate medical neglect by the administration of the local prison in Ait Melloul, Agadir, Morocco, after all requests to transfer him to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment for the illnesses he suffers from – particularly heart disease and high blood pressure – were rejected.
In protest against these dire conditions, the Sahrawi civilian prisoner intends to begin Monday a 48-hour warning hunger strike.
