Algeria and Italy reaffirm support for political and just solution that enables people of Western Sahara to exercise self-determination

Algiers, 25 March 2026 (SPS) – Algeria and Italy reaffirmed their support for a political and just solution that enables the people of Western Sahara to exercise self-determination.

In a joint press statement with the Italian Prime Minister, Ms. Giorgia Meloni, following the talks that brought them together at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic of Algeria, they reaffirmed their support for a political and just solution that enables the people of Western Sahara to exercise self-determination.

They also discussed a number of issues of common interest.
