Vienna (Austria), 24 March 2026 (SPS) – The Adviser to the President of the Republic in charge of natural resources and the legal issues related to them, Mr. Oubi Bushraya Bashir, affirmed that any approach to resolving the conflict that ignores the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination will not succeed.
Speaking during his intervention at the General Assembly of the Austrian Association for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, he focused on the political process and the latest developments related to international efforts to launch a peaceful settlement process for the conflict in Western Sahara. He stressed the position of the Polisario Front, which remains committed to the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination as the cornerstone in determining the final status of the territory.
He also addressed developments related to the issue of natural resources and the contradictions in which the European Commission has fallen by signing an economic agreement with Morocco.
