Shaheed El-Hafed, March 16, 2026 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, presided on Monday evening at the headquarters of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Original Education over the award ceremony honoring the winners of the National Quran Memorization Competition, as well as the commemoration of Laylat al-Qadr.
The event was attended by members of the National Secretariat, the government, officials from various national institutions, and representatives of the religious affairs sector.
The supervising ministry announced the list of winners of the National Quran Memorization Competition, with the President of the Republic personally honoring the first-place winner. The ceremony continued with awards presented by the Prime Minister, the President of the National Council, the Minister of the sector, and other government members to the remaining winners according to their ranking.
The member of the National Secretariat and Minister of Religious Affairs and Original Education also presented a report on the activities carried out during the holy month of Ramadan. He pointed out that the ministry had established committees to oversee the preparation of scholarly content, the drafting of sermons, and the organization of religious events in line with the national Ramadan program.
He also praised the regional authorities for honoring winners of regional competitions and commended the initiatives of traders and members of the diaspora who supported imams and muezzins.
