Shaheed El-Hafed, February 23, 2026 (SPS) – The preparatory committee for the 10th congress of the National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW) announced on Monday the date, venue, and slogan of the organization’s 10th congress.
The chairwoman of the committee, Ms. Shaba Seini, stated in remarks to SPS that the congress will be held from April 20 to 22, in Smara Wilaya, under the slogan: “Sahrawi Women: Steadfastness and Sacrifice for Independence and Freedom.” The congress will bear the name of the martyr Khadija Hamdi.
Shaba Seini added that the women’s congress will take place amid regional and international circumstances that require Sahrawi women to rise to the challenges and seek effective mechanisms and tools to keep pace with the current stage. She emphasized the role entrusted to Sahrawi women in the battle for liberation and nation-building under the leadership of the Polisario Front.
