President of Algerian National People’s Assembly reaffirms his country’s firm position on Sahrawi cause

Algiers, 10 February 2026 (SPS) – Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, President of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, reaffirmed Algeria’s firm position in support of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, in accordance with international legitimacy and relevant United Nations resolutions.

This came during his reception of Mr. Khatri Adouh, member of the National Secretariat, Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria.

During the meeting, Khatri Adouh praised the role played by the Algerian National People’s Assembly through parliamentary diplomacy, particularly in supporting just causes. He stressed that the Sahrawi Parliament draws great inspiration and benefit from the Algerian experience, especially in the field of legislation and the development of the legal system.

The two sides discussed the fraternal bilateral relations that unite the two countries and the brotherly Sahrawi and Algerian peoples, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two legislative institutions, in a manner that serves shared causes and reinforces solidarity among peoples.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Miloud Tsouh, President of the Algerian–Sahrawi Parliamentary Brotherhood and Friendship Committee; Mr. Youssef Diehli, Director of Information at the National People’s Assembly; and Mr. M’hamed Cheikh, First Secretary at the Sahrawi Embassy in Algeria.
