Shaheed El Hafed, 09 December 2025 (SPS) — The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front reaffirmed that settling the conflict in Western Sahara is contingent upon the effective exercise of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.
In a statement concluding the work of its 8th ordinary session, held under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the National Secretariat, when addressing the latest UN Security Council Resolution 2797 (2025), stressed that the resolution clearly confirms that the conflict in Western Sahara cannot be resolved without the Sahrawi people exercising their inherent right to self-determination, in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
The statement added that this constituted a clear response to attempts by the Moroccan occupying state—which, with strong support from some powers, sought to push the Security Council to overlook international legality and relevant UN decisions concerning the Sahrawi issue.
