Lomé (Togo), 09 December 2025 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic is participating in the 9th Pan-African Congress hosted in the Togolese capital, Lomé, under the theme: “Renewal of Pan-Africanism and Africa’s role in the reform of multilateral institutions: mobilizing resources and reinventing itself to act.”
The Sahrawi Republic is represented by a delegation led by the Ambassador in charge of Asian Affairs, Mr. Brahim Moukhtar Boumakhrouta. Around 1,000 delegates and participants from the host country, African states, and members of the African diaspora worldwide are attending the conference, which constitutes an important milestone in Africa’s political, developmental, and social trajectory.
The conference aims to unify African peoples and the African diaspora in order to eliminate the remnants of colonialism, domination, exploitation, and economic dependency.
It also seeks to strengthen the role of the African diaspora as a key pillar in contributing to the continent’s development, and to call on Western countries to compensate for the destruction caused by colonialism and the suffering and tragedies it left behind for African nations and peoples.
