
Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), October 15, 2025 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic, represented by the member of the National Secretariat and Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, participated Tuesday in the official opening of an exhibition dedicated to the products of skilled African youth, especially technological products, organized on the sidelines of the Africa Skills Week currently being held in Addis Ababa from the 13th to the 17th of this month.
The inauguration ceremony and the visit to the exhibition were overseen by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Ethiopian Minister of Labor and Skills, Ms. Muferihat Kamil, and Ministers of Education and Training from a group of African countries.
The Sahrawi Minister is participating this week in the work and activities of the Africa Skills Week held in Addis Ababa under the slogan "Powering Africa's Industrial Future: Skills for Innovation, Growth, and Sustainability," accompanied by Ambassador Malainin Lakhal, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Sahrawi Republic to the African Union, and Brother Hamdi Did, Advisor to the Ministry of Education in charge of African Union affairs.
The Sahrawi Minister attended the official opening session of the Week, which was supervised by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, with the participation of the African Union Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Gaspar Banyankimbona, alongside the Ethiopian Minister of Labor and Skills, Ms. Muferihat Kamil Ahmeda, and Ministers of Education and Vocational Training from South Africa and Gambia, as well as a number of ambassadors, officials, experts, and representatives of member states and international partners.
On another note, the Minister held several meetings with officials and heads of delegations participating in the Week to exchange views on various issues related to education, training, and innovation.
