Algiers, 08 October 2025 (SPS) – As part of its regular events and in collaboration with the "Moujahid Meshaal" Association, the Moudjahid Forum hosted a symposium on Algerian diplomacy’s support for liberation movements, with the Polisario Front presented as a model.
The event took place in the context of commemorating National Algerian Diplomacy Day and the 50th anniversary of the National Unity of the Polisario Front.
In his address, Khatri Addouh, Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Ambassador to Algeria, praised Algeria's historical and principled stance in support of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.
He emphasized that Algerian diplomacy has always been characterized by sincerity, integrity, and seriousness—free from opportunism and double standards—when defending the just causes of peoples seeking liberation.
The ambassador added that Algeria’s historic position is not only rooted in a commitment to international law and legitimacy, but also reflects a broader struggle against injustice, colonization, and the oppression of peoples.
He also underlined the significance of the National Unity anniversary, describing it as a historic achievement that enabled the Sahrawi people to make great strides in their national struggle.
For his part, Makfoudi Chaker Abdelrazak, Director of Foreign Relations at the People’s National Assembly, stated that Algerian diplomacy has always been founded on principles and objectives prioritizing the support of liberation movements and the right of peoples, while respecting neighborly relations, promoting cooperation, and adhering to non-interference in other states’ internal affairs.
He added that the Sahrawi cause remains a constant and unwavering commitment of Algerian parliamentary diplomacy, demonstrated through the establishment of supportive mechanisms such as the Parliamentary Friendship and Brotherhood Group Algeria–Western Sahara.
