Shaheed El-Hafed, October 2, 2025 (SPS) - The Minister of Culture, Mr. Moussa Selma, received today, Wednesday, Mr. Ardis Ben Haddid, the Director of the Cultural Center in Tindouf province and the Commissioner of the National Monodrama and Theatrical Arts Festival.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss ways of joint cooperation, especially in the fields of training, theatrical production, and direction. The two parties agreed to prepare a draft cooperation agreement in the aforementioned areas, which would contribute to the development of Sahrawi theatre and enhance joint cultural cooperation between various Sahrawi and Algerian cultural institutions on one hand, and promote and develop various cultural programs on the other. This is expected to have a positive impact on strengthening and deepening the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between the two brotherly peoples, the Sahrawi and Algerian peoples.
It is worth noting that Tindouf province will host the National Monodrama and Theatrical Arts Festival between November 8 and 13, 2025, under the supervision of the Algerian Ministry of Culture and Arts. The Sahrawi Republic will participate as a guest of honor through the National Sahrawi Theatre Troupe, performing the monodrama "Entire Homeland or Martyrdom," and a cultural tent that includes writers, poets, and an artistic troupe.
The meeting was attended on the Algerian side, in addition to the Director, by Ms. Lina Bousaid, President of the Cultural Café Association, responsible for programming and logistics for the festival. On the Sahrawi side, it was attended by members of the National Sahrawi Theatre and a delegate from the Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army.
