National Secretariat postpones 17th Congress of Polisario Front within legal framework

Shaheed El-Hafed, September 22, 2025 (SPS) - The National Secretariat has decided to postpone the convening of the 17th Congress of the Polisario Front, in accordance with the legal timeframe stipulated in Article 44 of the Polisario Front's Basic Law.

During an emergency session held today, Monday, under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the National Secretariat decided to postpone the 17th Congress.

This decision falls within the legal deadlines specified in Article 44 of the Polisario Front's Basic Law, which states: "The Congress shall convene every three years (03) in an ordinary session, which may be postponed once for a maximum period of one year."
