Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), August 21, 2025 (SPS) - The Sahrawi cause and support for the just struggle of its people formed the core of bilateral talks and communication meetings held by the Secretary-General of the General Union of Workers of Saguia el-Hamra and Río de Oro (UGTSARIO), Mr. NafEi Ahmed Mohamed, with representatives of African and international trade union and labor bodies participating in the proceedings of the 46th session of the General Council of the African Trade Union Unity, held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Following the opening ceremony of the session, the UGTSARIO Secretary-General met with the Minister of Labor of the Tanzanian government, who delivered his country's address.
The Secretary-General also met with representatives of unions from numerous participating countries, in addition to meeting with the Secretariat of the African Trade Union Unity.
In the same context, during the specialized workshop on the regions of the continent as part of the working groups, the Sahrawi participation had the opportunity to advocate for making workers a partner in national policies—politically, economically, and socially.
