New York (United Nations), July 30, 2025 (SPS) – In a recent statement to Algeria’s Ennahar TV, Dr. Sidi Mohamed Omar, member of the National Secretariat and Polisario Front representative at the UN (coordinating with MINURSO), affirmed that the Moroccan occupying state is a rogue nation notorious in its foreign policy for employing all means, including blackmail, bribery, and buying influence.
The Sahrawi diplomat pointed to Morocco’s use of illegal migration as a tool for blackmail and pressure in its dealings with European Union countries, particularly Spain. He recalled the events of 2021, when the occupying state pushed thousands of its citizens—including children and even infants—into the sea toward Spain to pressure the Spanish government, leading to a subsequent shift in Madrid’s stance.
He further stated that the clearest evidence of Morocco’s bribery tactics is the "Morocco Gate" scandal, which exposed its blatant involvement in bribing current and former members of the European Parliament to defend its interests within the EU. This has prompted numerous parliamentarians to call for punitive measures against the Moroccan regime for its Mafia-like criminal behavior.
Recent international media reports have also highlighted Morocco’s complicity in human trafficking and its exploitation of illegal migration as political blackmail in relations with other states, especially Spain. The Moroccan regime repeatedly manufactures crises, using migrants as bargaining tools in flagrant violation of international norms and human dignity.
