Algiers, July 30, 2025 (SPS) – The Algerian Minister of Youth, Mr. Mustafa Hidaoui, in charge of the Supreme Council for Youth, received the Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Youth.
The meeting focused on preparations for the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, scheduled to be held in Algeria under the slogan "Youth Unites the World for a Free Western Sahara."
The Minister reaffirmed Algeria's support for the Sahrawi people in their struggle for their legitimate right to self-determination and independence, emphasizing that this is a decolonization issue. He highlighted Algeria's long-standing history of sacrifices, principles, and steadfast values in defending peoples' rights to liberation and emancipation.
In the same context, he stressed the need to mobilize all necessary conditions to ensure the success of this youth event and achieve its desired objectives.
For his part, the Sahrawi Ambassador praised Algeria's consistent and supportive stance toward the Sahrawi people and their just cause. He underscored Algeria's historical role in standing alongside liberation movements worldwide and the sacrifices it continues to make, despite various challenges, in support of oppressed peoples. He also emphasized the importance of leveraging this youth gathering to raise awareness about the Sahrawi cause and expand international solidarity and support across continents.
The meeting expanded to include delegations from Sahrawi and Algerian youth organizations. Attendees listened to presentations by various committees on preparatory steps and ways to ensure the success of this global youth event.
