Cantabria (Spain), July 30, 2025 (SPS) – Solidarity and friendship associations with the Sahrawi people in the province of Cantabria, Spain, organized a large welcome reception on Tuesday for a group of Sahrawi children visiting for their summer holidays as part of the Holidays in Peace program. The event was attended by the Polisario Front’s representation in Cantabria.
On this occasion, the solidarity associations—including Aouda Cantabria, Cantabria por el Sáhara Occidental, and Moviendo Arena, along with the Polisario Front’s delegation in the province—issued a statement demanding that the Spanish government rectify its illegal and complicit stance regarding Western Sahara under Moroccan occupation.
They urged Spain to assume its responsibilities as the former administrative authority and defend the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, as recognized by numerous international and continental resolutions.
