Rome (Italy), 23 June 2025 (SPS) — Algeria and Italy have reaffirmed their support for a just political solution that enables the Sahrawi people to determine their own future in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
This came during a joint press conference by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as part of President Tebboune’s official visit to Italy. Both leaders expressed their backing for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara.
They also emphasized the necessity of reaching a just political solution under international legitimacy to allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune is leading an official visit to Italy, aimed at strengthening the historical bonds of friendship and enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations across various fields.
