Algiers, June 18, 2025 (SPS) – A member of the National Secretariat, Ambassador to Algeria, Khatri Adouh, has received Ms. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, President of the Algerian National Observatory for Civil Society.
The meeting, held at the embassy, focused on preparations for a series of joint solidarity activities between Sahrawi and Algerian civil society, including a solidarity demonstration scheduled to take place in Mostaganem Province starting July 4, 2025.
Discussions also addressed ways to enhance and deepen cooperative relations and solidarity efforts, which would contribute to mutual benefit, the exchange of experiences, and broader participation of Sahrawi civil society in various events and activities organized by Algerian civil society.
The talks also touched on the broader importance and role of civil society in building and strengthening communities, activating associational work, and improving the content of programs and engagements—such as advocacy and the use of social media—while leveraging these tools across all fields.
The President of the Algerian National Observatory expressed her readiness for further solidarity-based cooperation and coordination to strengthen joint efforts in support of the Sahrawi cause.
