
Algiers, June 12, 2025 (SPS) – The Algerian Ministry of National Education hosted a meeting dedicated to studying ways to enhance and develop the Sahrawi educational system, as part of bilateral cooperation between the Algerian ministry and its Sahrawi counterpart, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
The meeting focused on ways to develop the Sahrawi educational system in several areas, particularly digitalization, programming, planning, curricula, school activities, school health, and parent-teacher associations.
It was also decided during the meeting to establish a committee to draft agreements and set the desired objectives.
Representing the Sahrawi side was Khatari Ahmoudi, Cultural Attaché at the Sahrawi Embassy, while the Algerian side was represented by a delegation from the Ministry of National Education, including: Mustapha Djalout, Director of Cooperation, Bourjem Nasser, Deputy Director in charge of Multilateral Cooperation, Karbi Nassira, Deputy Director in charge of Bilateral Cooperation, Farhi Saeed, National Education Inspector, Khethir Mustapha, Digitalization Officer, Baji Khaled Okba, Head of the Programming and School Mapping Office.
Also participating in the meeting was the Italian non-governmental organization, International Committee for the Development of Peoples (CISP), which focuses on cooperation in education in Sahrawi refugee camps. The organization was represented by Zemouchi Samir, its representative, and Faisal Tounsi, Program Coordinator of the organization.
