
Wilaya of Boujdour, June 09, 2025 (SPS) – The commemoration of the 49th anniversary of Martyrs' Day, held today, Monday, in the wilaya of Boujdour, featured an intellectual symposium on the thought and philosophy of Martyr El-Ouali Mustapha Sayed, focusing on his leadership, ability to mobilize the masses, and his distinctive methods of persuasion and analysis.
The symposium, moderated by the Secretary-General of the Workers' Union (UGTSARIO), Nafei Ahmed Mohamed, was enriched by testimonies from individuals who had worked alongside the martyr between 1970 and 1976: Saeed Filali, Mustapha Mohamed Lemine (known as Al-Kateb), Mohamed Fazel Mohamed Ismail (Obrero), Mbaraka Ibrahim Boumkhrouta, Senia Ahmed Marhba, and Bashir Ould Ali.
The event began with an excerpt from a speech by martyr El-Ouali Mustapha Sayed on national unity, after which attendees reflected on his qualities and virtues that earned him a distinguished place in the hearts of the Sahrawi people. Those who lived through that era or had the opportunity to meet him—including leaders and officials—shared their memories, highlighting the profound impact of his leadership and vision.
