Shaheed El-Hafed, May 25, 2025 (SPS) – In a new step reflecting the World Federation of Democratic Youth's (WFDY) commitment to supporting just causes worldwide, the World Communist Youth Conference has elected the Sahrawi Youth Union of Saguia el-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UJSARIO) as a member of the World Communist Youth Council.
This victory comes after continuous diplomatic efforts and intensive outreach led by UJSARIO, which worked for an entire year to amplify the voice of the Sahrawi people in international forums, shed light on the suffering of Sahrawi youth under occupation, and strengthen solidarity with supportive movements.
UJSARIO welcomed its election to the WFDY Council, considering it a culmination of the diplomatic efforts made by Sahrawi youth to bring their just cause to the world. The Union reaffirmed its commitment to working with international partners to end the last remnants of colonialism in Africa.
