Paris (France), May 10, 2025 (SPS) – Ms. Elizabeth Pelthier, a steadfast friend of the Sahrawi people and a dedicated advocate for their cause, has passed away.

In a condolence message, Mohamed Ali Zerouali, the Polisario Front’s representative in France, emphasized that the late Pelthier stood alongside the Sahrawi people for over twenty years, providing both material and moral support to their struggle.

He added that she played a crucial role in mobilizing French civil society to amplify the voice of the just Sahrawi cause, awakening public conscience and fostering international solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their legitimate rights.

Pelthier was the author of the book "Despite Everything, Dakhla Exists" and numerous articles—through which she conveyed, with honesty, humanity, and strength, the reality of the Sahrawi people’s struggle.

Though not Sahrawi by birth, she was one in heart and soul, embodying the values of dignity, resistance, and love for a people she defended tirelessly.
