Algiers, May 4, 2025 (SPS) – The Arab Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People announced in a statement issued today, Sunday, its joining of the international campaign demanding the immediate release of Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails, particularly the Gdeim Izik group.
In this context, the committee condemned all forms of oppression, torture, and arbitrary detention endured by the Sahrawi people for half a century under the watch of the international, Islamic, and Arab communities—with no regard for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, a right enjoyed by other nations that have achieved independence and freedom worldwide.
The committee also called on the UN Secretary-General and the UN Security Council to take urgent action to enforce international laws guaranteeing the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.
