Barcelona (Spain), April 29, 2025 (SPS) – Activist Claude Mangane, who is leading the Freedom March for the release of Sahrawi political prisoners, was received today, Tuesday, at the Catalan Parliament headquarters by the Friendship and Freedom for Western Sahara group.
The meeting served as an opportunity to inform members of the Spanish parliamentary group about the march's objectives and demands, as well as to update them on the situation in Western Sahara and how the prolonged conflict persists due to the stances of certain European countries, particularly Spain.
In a statement to SPS, Brahim Mohamed, the march's media coordinator, explained that discussions will be held with some political figures represented in the parliament, aiming to persuade the Spanish political class in Catalonia to play a role in raising awareness about the human rights situation in Western Sahara and the issue of Sahrawi political prisoners.
