The joint declaration, made as the commission meeting's proceedings were wrapping up, underlines the commitment of both countries to the different resolutions of the UN Security Council and General Assembly on the completion of the decolonization process, and especially their support and commitment to the implementation of all decisions issued by the two main UN bodies in relation to Western Sahara people's right to self-determination, and the legal framework of the territory.

At the bilateral level, the meeting resulted in the identification of new areas of cooperation, responding to the aspirations of the two countries to achieve development.

It was also an opportunity to enrich the legal framework governing bilateral relations through the signing of 13 legal documents, covering the fields of pharmaceutical industry, investment promotion, agriculture, energy and mines, start-ups, space sciences, higher education, sports, culture and archives.
